The Congress ‘The Holiday Park of the Future’ took place on the 8th of June at the Efteling Theater at Kaatsheuvel. With nearly 400 visitors, this day has given full attention to new trends and developments in holiday parks. At the end of the afternoon, the first Trophy of ‘The Holiday Park of the Future 2017’ took place, which was handed over to Holiday Park De Beerze Bulten.
During the Congress, attention was given to the topic ‘The Holiday Park of the Future’ through presentations by more than 15 top speakers such as Iwan Groothuis / Director Holiday Park DeKrim | Texel and Steve van den Kerkhof / CEO Plopsa Group. There was also an innovation square where entrepreneurs were able to amuse the audience with information on their own stands.
During the day there were tours given by Efteling employees about the newly realised Holiday Park Het Loonsche Land on the Efteling site. This park has a special landscaping and opened its doors to the public at the beginning of June. The almost 400 visitors, as one of the first guests, where also able to look at the inside of the various holiday cottages in the park.
The various presentations have shown that more is being spent on sustainability at the holiday parks and the camp guest of the future is mostly interested in luxury accommodations. Several entrepreneurs have also indicated what new concepts they are working on. For example, an event hall will be realized at De Krim Holiday Park in Texel. A family entertainment center has recently been set up at De Beerze Bulten Holiday Park, and soon there will be an accommodation available between the animals at the new Safaripark Beekse Bergen. Overall, we realise there are many new future-oriented developments within the Holiday Parks.
Due to all these special developments and the stimulation of this at all holiday parks, a trophy is handed over every year on this Congress ‘The Holiday Park of the Future’. This year the trophy has been awarded for the first time and De Beerze Bulten Holiday Park has received this award. Owner Gerrit-Jan Hagedoorn gave a presentation about ‘The De Beerze Bulten Feeling’ and recent developments like the Familiy Entertainment Center ‘Giga Konijnenhol’.
Next year, the second edition of ‘The Holiday Park of the Future’ will be held on June 12th in one of the best Holiday Parks in the Netherlands; TerSpegelt. Will we meet again? Sign up now at firstname.lastname@example.org. See you then!
